Ivan Espinosa, a top executive at Nissan, recently hinted at a lineup of four to five halo models aimed at redefining the brand’s performance identity. Teaming up with its Paris-based Formula E squad, led by Tommaso Volpe, Nissan plans to use racing expertise to create EV prototypes, focusing on enhancing traction management, efficiency, and overall driving dynamics.

Specifications and Powertrain Technology

Nissan’s future Nismo EVs are expected to be built on the brand’s twin-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) platform, similar to the technology used in Formula E. The Gen4 Formula E cars, launching in the 2026/27 season, will offer permanent AWD systems and produce up to 800bhp, a significant upgrade from the current 469bhp.
