Project F-26: California-based Porsche remastering specialist Gunther Werks has unveiled its wildest creation yet — the Project F-26. Named after a fighter jet, styled like a 935-inspired slantnose, and packing a monstrous 1,000bhp air-cooled engine, it might just be the most extreme road-going 911 homage ever built.
At its core, the F-26 begins life as a 993-generation Porsche 911 — the last of the air-cooled 911s — but is rebuilt with such radical engineering and design, it’s practically a new car.
Project F-26 Engine & Performance
The star of the show is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre flat-six, co-developed with Rothsport Racing. Cooling comes via a motorsport-derived flat fan system, which Gunther Werks claims delivers double the airflow of a conventional vertical fan.

No official 0-100km/h figure has been released — and maybe that’s wise. With this much power going to just the rear wheels, drivers will be too busy hanging on.

Gunther Werks has engineered the chassis to handle the fury:
- 200% increase in rigidity compared to the standard 993
- Stretched wheelbase for stability
- Hydraulic steering for purity
- Custom suspension arms & adaptive JRZ dampers
- Motorsport-grade ABS & traction control
Braking power comes from carbon ceramic discs with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rears. Lightweight 18-inch magnesium wheels complete the package.
Lightweight Design
Every detail screams motorsport inspiration. The carbon fibre body panels, doors, and bespoke slantnose-inspired front end slash weight to just 1,225kg. The fixed headlights echo the classic Porsche 935, while a massive carbon rear wing delivers serious downforce.

Fighter Jet Interior
Inside, the theme continues with leather and Alcantara trim, exposed carbon fibre, and a steering wheel inspired by fighter jet wing profiles. The finishing touch? A wooden gearknob, paying tribute to Porsche’s classic race cars.
Exclusivity & Price
Gunther Werks will build just 26 units of the Project F-26. Each carries a starting price of $1,570,000 (approx ₹13 crore) — making it one of the rarest and most expensive restomod 911s ever.
